In this data privacy statement, we explain how NEOVIUS AG – Lawyers & Notaries (hereinafter referred to as NEOVIUS, we or us) collect and process personal data. Personal data is defined as all information relating to a specific or specifiable person.

We primarily process personal data which we collect in the context of our mandate relationships with our clients and other contractual relationships with business partners from these persons and other persons involved in these relationships or which we collect from users during the operation of our website and other applications.
Where permitted, we also collect some data from publicly accessible sources (e.g. debt collection registers, land registers, commercial register, press, internet) or receive such data from our clients, the authorities and other third parties.
In addition to the data provided to us directly by you, the categories of personal data which we receive about you from third parties include, in particular, information from public registers, information disclosed to us in connection with official and court proceedings, information relating to your professional functions and activities, information about you disclosed in correspondence and discussions with third parties, information about you which is provided to us by persons from your environment (family, advisors, legal representatives, etc.) to enable us to conclude or process contracts with you or involving you, information about compliance with statutory provisions, e.g. the combating of money laundering and export restrictions, information from banks, insurance companies, distribution and other contracting partners to enable you to claim or provide services (e.g. payments made, purchases made), your address and possibly your interests and other social and demographic data (for marketing purposes) or data relating to the use of the website.
USE OF OUR WEBSITE
Every time our website is called up, it collects a range of general data and information which are stored in log files on the server. Among other things, this data includes specific information about how you use our website, IP addresses, access data and times, hardware and software information, including device-specific information, and other similar information. We process this data to the extent required to operate, maintain and improve our website.
PURPOSE AND LAWFAL BASIS OF DATA PROCESSING
We primarily process personal data in order to conclude and perform our contracts with our clients and business partners and to meet our statutory obligations in Switzerland and abroad. To the extent permitted and required, we also process personal data about you and other parties for the following purposes in which we (and sometimes also third parties) have an expedient legitimate interest:
- To offer and further develop our services and website;
- To conduct advertising and marketing (as long as you have not objected to the use of your data);

PERIOD OF STORAGE
We not only process and store your personal data for as long as we need to do so in order to perform our contractual and statutory obligations or to pursue the purpose for which the data is processed, but also for longer periods in accordance with the statutory provisions regarding our storage and documentation obligations.
As soon as your personal data is no longer needed for the above purposes, it is in principle deleted or anonymised as far as possible.
We take appropriate technical and organisational security precautions to protect your personal data against unauthorised access and misuse.
RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT
Within the context of the data protection law applicable to you and to the extent prescribed by this law, you have the right to access your data, to have it rectified or deleted, to restrict data processing and to object to our processing of your data and the disclosure of certain personal data for the purpose of transferring such personal data to another location (so-called data portability).
Please note, however, that we reserve the right to enforce the statutory restrictions, for example if we are obliged to retain or process certain data, have an overriding interest in it (insofar as we may invoke it), or need it for enforcing claims.
